Lost premium Shipping options due to VTR rate

Hi,

I have lost my eligbility this morning on my premium shipping due to my VTR rate dropping. However I ship all items using buy shipping, nothing has been sent outwith buy shipping across the last few months at all. Does buy shipping no longer protect your VTR rate if you use CRL 24/48? Sometimes the tracked options are not avaliable as Amazon seems to think tracked 48 takes longer than CRL 48 for exmaple.

Its frustrating as its Amazons fault for sometimes taking off Tracked services saying they dont meet required delivery promises and then Royal Mails fault for not scanning CRL mail everytime

I have submitted a plan of action but I would just like clarity from an admin or mod as to wether buy shipping no longer validates CRL 24/48?

You're confusing two different things.

Premium Delivery Eligibility measures based on the orders that were placed for Premium shipping. For those, you have to use a fully tracked 1 day or 2 day service. CRL is not suitable. You would need to use Special Delivery or Tracked 24/48 with Royal Mail, or comparable with other couriers.

Regular VTR is measured across all orders and has no impact on premium delivery eligibility. For that, using Buy Shipping for CRL mail is fine.

Lastly, if you're offering premium shipping, then you are the one making a delivery promise, and the responsibility falls on you, regardless of which courier or shipping solution is used. Royal Mail aren't the ones forming a contract with your customer, you are.

Im not sure why Amazon have CRL 24 avaliable for premium orders then if you shouldnt use it, it just shouldnt be there or there should at least be more info on amazon about this

Definitely agree with you on that. My guess is the team that programmes the post selection doesn't know that premium shipping and such exist as policies. They were probably only instructed to factor in delivery expectations.

I think that's been a sticking point for some people selling through Seller Fulfilled Prime, as well.

So if we used Click and drop which is integrated to our account and used tracked 24 we would have been protected?
Ver publicación

That would have done for both account VTR and Premium Delivery Eligibility VTR. The only sticking point would be if you're offering it for 1 day shipping, and some of them are delivered late. To maintain Premium Delivery Eligibility, you need to deliver at least 97% of premium orders on time.

Some people use Special Next Day for 1 day and Tracked 24 for two day to try and make sure late deliveries aren't problems.

We cant deliver on our backs so we have to trust Royal Mail scan the item as does every seller.

The thing is, you don't. You're not obligated to offer that shipping method. You're not obligated to sell at all. If you take the decision to sell, you're taking on the obligations that come with that, and that includes the shipping and delivery process.

Your customers aren't paying Royal Mail, they're paying you. You're then choosing to hire Royal Mail to fulfil that responsibility for you, but it's still your responsibility.

We noticed same thing in multiple territories. VTR is falling down but when we download the report and track every parcel is delivered on time.

We have opened a case with Amazon and waiting on resolution. I would suggest you do the same.

This has been an issue for a long time.

You are correct - Amazon Buy Shipping often allows you to buy CRL even for Premium Shipping and even when it has removed the equivalent Tracked option because it has deemed it will not meet the expected delivery date.

This is the trouble with Amazon using statistics and not common sense. Tracked items are given priority by Royal Mail over CRL items. I have had this confirmed to me by Royal Mail. However, many more parcels are sent by CRL than they are Tracked. Amazon uses data provided by Royal Mail to see when certain services and which areas are suffering from delays. Now if 2 parcels out of 100 on the Tracked service is late this is 2%. If however, 10 out of 1000 items on the CRL service are late this is only 1%. So Amazon deems CRL a better service than Tracked even though many more parcels were delivered late on the CRL service

Buy Shipping SHOULD protect your VTR from all delivery problems. Even the help pages say as much. But it often does not and Support are useless in getting the issue resolved. Forum Mods used to help with the issue but even they seem to have stopped helping on this issue anymore - despite giving me many promises.

I gave up on using Buy Shipping precisely because of these issues. I now only use Click & Drop where I can send my premium items Tracked and amazingly I have not suffered any issues with my VTR since.
