Amazon Global Logistics - What is Shipper/Exporter of Record
Hi there,
I'm trying to book a shipment with Amazon Global Logistics (AGL) from China to US.
But, after filling in all details the "Accept Charges and Confirm" button is greyed out.
I believe the reason for this is that when I'm filling in the details in the Shipping parties and product description, I can't choose a Shipper/Exporter of Record. The dropdown menu for Shipper is greyed out. Even if I try to "Add or edit the sender", I can't select myself, I only get options to edit or delete.
Upon searching Amazon Support Pages on Seller Central I found the following information:
- With AGL, Amazon acts as the exporter of record and handles the customs clearance and documentation requirements for FBA Export shipments.
- Sellers do not need to be the exporter of record when using FBA Export with AGL. Amazon takes care of exporting on the seller's behalf.
Despite this I am unable to click Accept Charges and Confirm Shipping as the button is greyed out. See screenshot attached - (please note I did have a Product Description added I removed it when taking the screenshot for confidentiality purposes).
Also to mention here I did contact seller support but did not get any final response from them except mentioning that I should try booking a new shipment in which the same issue is occurring. Case IDs: 14963331081 and 14934058911.
We have a pickup scheduled for this week and need to book this shipment ASAP to avoid delays. Any helpful responses are appreciated.
Thanks for your assistance and have a nice day!

Your screenshot shows that you must add a product description but I do not see one added. Have you tried adding a product description?

Hi @Seller_UkEgFTQnFSYJr,
It looks like the team did provide a response in the case 14934058911. Did you follow those instructions and did that solve the issue for you?
Best,
Dominic

I am having the same problem and I don't know what to do... I opened 2 cases, waited for days and nothing, they closed the case and sent me another email...

Running into the same issue here.. It seems like they still need to iron a lot of things out with AGL. I've ran into an issue every step of the registration process, now again when I try to book the shipment.
On top of that, they won't tell us the estimated price to pick up the goods from the supplier, nor provide us with the location of the Container Freight Station so we can have our supplier give us an estimated shipping cost.
Why do we need to pay a one-year customs bond AND commit to a shipment without knowing even knowing an estimation of how much we will pay for the goods to be picked up or sent to the Container Freight Station?
