Buyer Submits "Order Not Received" Claim The Day I Ship (On-Time) & Gets Refund?!

I'm a little new here but how is this even possible?

The buyer purchases on Mon, Jun 16, 2025

I ship on Tues, Jun 17, 2025 with a Claims Protected Label from Amazon.

Buyer submits a claim with support on Jun 17, 2025 that they never received the order & they get a refund.

The item will arrive by June 19th, Amazon said it must at least arrive by Fri, Jun 20, 2025.

I never got a notice for this order in my return center, no option to appeal the A-to-Z. On the order history it just says "Refund applied (1)".

Even better the UPS shipment has been modified, it was requested to "Hold at UPS Access Point Requested" and is now no longer going to the buyers address... It seems like this person is a scammer and I was given no option to appeal. Seems like an Amazon customer support person just issued them a full refund on the day the item was shipped, not giving me the option to do my A-to-Z claim process.

So my question is what do I do? Do I have to submit a SAFE-T claim?

"Do I have to submit a SAFE-T claim?"

Abso-fluffin-lutely! If Amazon lets you do that. I don't know the current rules (if you can do SAFE-T Claim if an A-to-Z claim happened first). If they don't, then appeal in A-to-Z claim.

But wait first for the package to be delivered. And then file a claim with "product was not returned to me. Don't write anything about the weird stuff that happened to the order/refund. Let Amazon deal with that. If they need anything, they will ask you. And answer to them only with the information you requested. The more you talk - more reason you give to Amazon to deny the claim. From your point of view here is what happened:

-You received the order.

-You shipped it using Buy Shipping with the Claims Protected label, and you shipped it on time.

-The item was delivered to the customer.

-Amazon refunded the customer.

-The item was not returned to you.

Therefore, Amazon needs to reimburse you and they can deal with whatever their CS/A-to-Z agent/bot did to refund the customer - that's not your problem.

Did Amazon fund the claim? You would not have an option to appeal on an Amazon-funded claim.
