Incorrect Brand Name

Why does Amazon allow certain products brand name to change so easily? I am selling multiple products of a certain brand but they are not Brand registered. They sell thousands of units a month and the Brand name gets changed constantly to some random letters. I know it is easier because the brand is not registered but why do they allow this when it is obviously incorrect? I am constantly trying to change the brand name back but it seems it is easier to change it to the incorrect brand than the actual correct brand. Seems like the ones changing the name incorrectly should have their accounts suspended. Is there any way to stop these hijackers? I have been selling this brand for a few years and it has gotten bad the past few months. Amazon doesn't seem to care much about this.

None of you should be allowed to sell a branded item whether registered or not, unless you have proper brand authorization to do so.

I'm having a similar issue...there are many items that are listed with incorrect brand information in the marketplace. If an item is listed the first time with a correct UPC but an incorrect brand name, it cannot be changed. (current ASIN's brand name cannot be changed per Amazon policy) There is no brand registry for the incorrect brand name and there would obviously be no authorization as well. Amazon says to list the item with a new UPC...so essentially someone can list an item with the wrong brand information and correct UPC and then there is no way to correct the wrong brand?

Good Evening @Seller_z0TFo0bduk0xA and @Seller_LTFbitEOlHOna,

Apologies for the delayed response. There are actually a few more steps we are requesting sellers to take regarding unexpected brand name changes. My colleague @Sandy_Amazon, has shared these steps -->HERE<--

  1. Submit a report through the "Report Abuse" feature
  2. Select "Product detail page was changed to represent a different product"
  3. We suggest sellers to provide relevant details such as when the ASIN was created, by whom, and what the brand name was originally.
  4. If your report is declined, please don't hesitate to create a discussion post in the "Manage Your Brand" category and be sure to include your complaint ID for faster follow-up.

Hope the steps above help get your listing updated and back to its original state. Thank you for understanding and we look forward to hearing back from you soon.

Sincerely, Cooper_Amazon
