Voice of the customer - Very Poor Listings where customers have purchased used and complained.

Hi

Is there any way to challenge very poor voice of the customer returns.

Customers are buying used items which are being sold as used. Receiving and then opening returns as poor quality when they think they are expecting a brand new item. And naturally, seller is getting the blame. This is in particular in the last week or so during the Christmas rush.

What would be the way forward on this?

aside form getting the customer to cancel the return u doubt it.

To be honest I think since Amazon launched the voice of the customer we’ve only ever had one offering removed. Ours was a necklace chain that customers returned because it was either too long or too short. Amazon put the listing back live on us pointing out it couldn’t be both and simply put, necks are simply different sizes.

Like a lot of Amazon ideas, it’s a waste of time, we ignore it.

It doesn't matter how clear you make something, someone will not take notice and then complain.

I've had NCX on an item because one customer thought it was too big, a few days later, someone else complained the same thing was too small.

Then there are vindictive ratings because the customer messed up, e.g. giving wrong customisation details. And so they give a 1-star rating (no review) because of their mistake.

You need to have a little Que Sera, Sera attitude when selling on Amazon.

It clearly shows used on listings, so Buyers should know. However, sometimes if the listing has no new stock (or is too expensive, low ranked other Sellers, etc), the Buy Box is won by a used item.

Therefore, perhaps not noticed as unfortunately many Buyers only read the title and look at the pictures to decide something. They often do not read bullet points, and virtually never read the Product Description as that is a long way down the page.

'Used - As New', also needs to be just that, so a marked box or a bit of packing missing, but otherwise as new (maybe an unwanted Buyer return, which looks in excellent condition). Otherwise, if used and not exactly as new, sell 'Used - Good', etc - then a lower expectation.

Example ASIN for any of us to check?
