Generic KeywordGeneric vs Search Terms for variations

I have a product with two variations and I get different tabs for each listing (for some strange reason that science can not explain)

In any case. In one listing, I can see "Keywords" and it has a field called "Search terms" In my other variation, I only have "Product Details" and the only similar thing I see is "Generic Keyword"

The Generic Keyword appears to be semicolon delimiter and Search terms seems like space delimiter (maybe)

Are these the same or different? I think there is value is adding search terms, but I'm not sure how to do it correctly and the same for both variations.

Finally the parent listing (which is not a buyable product, but just a entity stub to hold variations) also has its own Keywords tab. I'm wondering if I should just fill out the parent and ignore the variations?

Seems very confusing how variations works.

Thank you!

Hello. Were you able to figure out if you need to use a space of semicolon for each keyword? I cannot find any information that says one way or the other.
