Have I been scammed by Amazon?

So I enrol an item in the FBA SNL program, get approval and send 60 of them to Amazon. When they get there I’m told I don’t have permission to sell that item and can’t apply for permission to sell that item - so they’re stranded. (This is an item and brand which I currently sell and have no issues with). The only option available to me is to either dispose of the items or create a removal order.

Customer Support are of course fully understanding of the situation and sympathize with me every time I raise the issue - but in reality they just want me to pay for the removal of the items which they just allowed me to send. And they won’t budge on that.

So have Amazon just hit on a new way to raise funds? Is it only affecting me - or is it pretty widespread?

I have heard of it happening once or twice since I started selling here over 3 years ago,

I think Amazon would make more money from you if they actually allowed you to sell the item, rather than waste their time receiving all the stock in, move it around various warehouses, just to gather it all up and then send it back you…

So no I don’t think its a new scam to raise funds…

Have they also stopped you selling it by FBM? Maybe if you told us the brand/item we could help a bit more in why you might have been blocked.
