Buy Shipping with linked Royal Mail account (if you don't have a collection)

Hi,

Regarding Amazon Buy Shipping with a linked Royal Mail account and using Tracked 24/48 services..

We currently receive a free daily Royal Mail collection at the end of each day but I'm just curious to how sellers who don't have a daily collection dispatch / handover their parcels? At the moment we just print the manifest off Amazon (Order Reports > End of day forms) and hand it to the driver with our sacks of mail. What are our other options if we don't receive a collection?

Thanks

Originally, we took it to the local Post Office and it was collected from there. Once we were doing more than 5 bags we started taking it to the local delivery depot.

I have an OBA account which is linked to my Amazon account.

I don't have collections, so I drop mine off at the local post office.

I print off 2 manifests - 1 from my Amazon end of day (order reports>end of day forms as you say), one from OBA for everything else (website, Ebay. Etsy etc sales), and I give those to the post office, they scan them and give them to the postie when they pick up the mailsacks.

I have an account but I don`t very often use it, send a lot of RM tracked 48 large letters (£2.70 when bought through click and drop). Yes we could buy RM48 through our amazon that would be £1.58 but it doesn`t actually provide you tracking, I got that fed up with the amount of people `blagging` me we moved to the tracked service.

We take these to the post at 4pm each day and hand them over one by one (sometimes over 30), they give us a receipt, which in theory if any problems we can make a claim, however making a claim through Royal Mail these days is basically impossible, they want a full break down of all raw materials etc which takes fair too long to even make it worth it when the item cost the customer £12.50

If we take the tracked RM48 to the sorting office we don`t even get a receipt they just take them which is quicker but it closes at 10am so we haven`t done that days orders.

Maybe we should move to using our RM account and getting the postage cheaper and taking a bag to the post office each day. I have had this argument with my partner, we would be saving over £1 per item that we sent (she just likes to actually have the proper tracking which is why she prefers the tracked 48). We both have a real issue when people claim they haven`t received items and get refunds.

What`s everyone else`s thoughts on RM48 through an account? Do you find many scammers? Any luck with making claims through RM?

If you have opted for collection, Royal Mail will collect your sacks. They have few collection drivers who works till late to collect the parcel if some reason they would not be able to collect the parcel as per your agreed time. You can also contact the Royal Mail local office(Check with the driver, from which local Royal Mail office they are coming from, take the number of that office) and they will let you know, when the driver is coming to collect the parcel. My collection time is 17:30. There are the days when Royal Mail has collected my sacks at 20:00. Alternatively, you can drop your sacks to nearest post office (Don't forget to take manifest sheet with you).
