Optimize Your Packaging: Best Practices for Amazon Sellers

Hello Amazon seller community!

I recently came across an informative article about packaging best practices that I thought would be valuable to share. Proper packaging is crucial for protecting our products and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Key takeaways from the article:

  1. Use new, clean, and undamaged packaging materials.
  2. Ensure items are secure and don't move around inside the package.
  3. Use appropriate cushioning for fragile items.
  4. Seal all seams with packing tape designed for shipping.
  5. Remove or cover any old labels or markings on reused boxes.

The article also emphasizes the importance of using boxes that maintain their shape during transit and aren't damaged or weakened by moisture.

For the full details, check out: Packaging best practices

I'm curious to hear about your experiences with packaging. What strategies have you found most effective for your products? If you've encountered any packaging challenges, how did you overcome them? Additionally, as we're all becoming more environmentally conscious, I'd love to hear any eco-friendly packaging tips you might have. Sharing our insights can help us all improve our packaging practices and contribute to better customer experiences and potentially reduced costs.

For many years, our products arrived from Amazon to customers in great condition. However, since Amazon switched to the paper bags to ship, the products are getting damaged. However, when the products are returned to Amazon, they are blaming the customer, saying the customer did it.

Given the type of damage, the items look like they've been crushed under significant pressure - like crushed by equipment. Certainly it's not damage that a person could inflict b hand or by accident, and it's never damage that occurs when products are shipped from us directly.

It's consistently the same type of damage that there's just no way each of those customers could be doing the same thing (like driving over it in a car).

All this to say, is there any way to request boxes are used instead of paper bags? Or do we now have to add the extra packing at our end?
