Complaint to office of the president and board of directors of Amazon

I would like to voice a complaint to the office of the president and the board of directors of Amazon. Your new minimum inventory levels and placement fees are an incredible expense for small business sellers. Most of my items are priced very affordably at around $10. Your new fee structure is an over 10% increase to my costs. I only make a dollar or two on each item and your new costs literally would have me working for you at less than minimum wage.

I cannot increase my prices as you have let an unlimited number of sellers from China into the marketplace. So I have to price my items almost at cost to compete. Now you have taken that little profit.

I have decided to stop participating in FBA as a result of your new cost structure. I cannot work for free. I cannot kill myself trying to send in enough items to stay ahead of minimum inventory costs.

Please repeal these policies. I am curious how many other sellers will just have to stop participating in FBA because of the new cost structures?

We think you missed the point.

Amazon is helping Chinese Importers send container loads direct from the mainland to FBA centers, without the onerous increase in "placement" fees.

How would you suggest that Amazon create all that open Distribution Center space?

Your welcome.

We have the same questions. Ever since the medical tariff expired in 2022, our sales went from millions to just a few thousand dollars. American companies cannot compete with "Generic" China product.

Fast forward to 2024 and we are hearing there will be several tariffs put in place for quite a few medical products and many other goods. Hopefully this will level the playing field since we can't compete with their labor standards.

Does anyone know what the current policy is for "Generic" China product that is imported?

Hello @Seller_VwpXIj0Q1CCJY. Thank you for that feedback about recent and upcoming changes to FBA fees.

Please note that apart from inbound placement fees, lower fulfillment fees will go into effect on April 15. Starting April 15, 2024, on average, we will decrease FBA fulfillment fees for standard-size products by $0.20 per unit and for Large Bulky-size products by $0.61 per unit.

The Preview in Revenue Calculator and FBA Fee Preview report was updated to show the reduced fulfillment fee rates on March 15. You can also find updated fulfillment fee rates by going to FBA fulfillment fee rates.

I think through the policies we have seen that Foreign sellers are more important. So I am going to change my model and start affiliate marketing showing how buying direct from China is easy, cheap, and reliable. I had links on my Reggae DJ shows to Amazon before. Now I am going to change my model to support direct from China as my method of making money. Amazon has shown how direct from China is the only solution and I want to help.
