How Did Amazon Approve a Brand Name That Isn't Registered on USPTO?
I noticed a seller who has a brand name listed on Amazon Brand Registry. However, when I checked the USPTO database for this brand name, there is no live trademark registered under that name. The only somewhat similar listing is a completely different product category (earrings) and has been in dead status since 2012—and it clearly doesn’t belong to this seller.
So how is it possible that Amazon approved this brand in the Brand Registry?
To my understanding, Amazon requires a live registered trademark (word mark) from USPTO for approval in the U.S. Brand Registry. Has something changed in Amazon’s process, or is there some workaround that sellers are using?
Would appreciate any insights or similar experiences.

there is no live trademark registered under that name.
That is not necessary to list your brand on Amazon. But, how do you know that this brand is enrolled in Brand Registry?
