ups only option
Jeez.... amazon just does not want the little guy to get by...
I got an order for a book to Co. and the only ship option is ups for $12.84 wth? Also the same size/weight costs $10.72 elswhere/ebay so I am being OVER CHARGED! for ups when I just want to ship media for $6.13
And it has nothing to do with delivery time as its standard $3.99 shipping in 3 weeks time.
I will have to buy media shipping elsewhere and risk not being protected because Amazon wants me and all the other little guys gone.
I have to ship within a day of order, I have to pay for shipping because amazon is deferring payments for 30-45 days and now amazon wont allow the standard shipping service I have used for decades.
Literally every time I interact with my seller account there's some new restriction, glitch, catch, error, tax, adjustment or new rule to abide by.

Well, you and every other seller should be used to it by now. Amazon changes rules and policies more frequently than some people change their underwear.
As you noted, you buy shipping elsewhere. Frankly, the risks are NOT that huge but Amazon is driving the hysteria in order to line their coffers with OUR MONEY!
As to the UPS charges, my Stamps/Dazzle/Endicia prices beat Amazon for UPS by several dollars on every shipment. I don't understand why people use Amazon Buy Shipping when it costs more AND if there is a problem you have to fight through with the AMAZON account information.
If I have an issue with a UPS shipment it's much easier to handle.
