Is amazon stealing when hazmat refunds happen?
Hi there,
We are selling fba hazmat items(all unreturnable items). We have been getting a lot of refunds that amazon is automatically issuing for various reasons.
-Product not as described(not true)
-Order not received
-Unable To Deliver
-General adjustment
-Missed Fulfillment Promise
Just to name some of the reasons. As you can see none of these are necessarily the fault of us it is more the fault of amazon FBA. Since these products are "unreturnable" the customers don't send them back in. So is amazon giving them the product essentially for free and making us take the loss??!?! Or am I missing something here? Seller support has been no help answering this question.

Hello @Seller_oYbOAhKsTYEHe- and thanks for looking to the forums for some guidance on hazmat items.
While it is true that hazmat items in general cannot be returned, per this customer facing help page, I wanted to be sure you had the FBA Reimbursement Policy close at hand, as you may be able to file a claim against certain such situations. While certain items cannot be returned, refunds may still be issued if issues arise with a delivery or product.
There are regulations on hazmat items outside of Amazon's control, which are linked from this policy page on Hazmat items.
I hope this helps, and thanks again for looking to the forums for discussion on the topic.
Best,
Danny
