As my product is yet to be assigned an ASIN

As my product is yet to be assigned an ASIN, I'm curious to know if it is acceptable to use the UPC on the product packaging during the initial launch. Should I later update the product with its assigned ASIN on the packaging, or is it sufficient to maintain the UPC?

The ASIN is nothing more than Amazon's SKU number for the Amazon product page. Amazon will assign it when a product page is created. It means nothing to anyone except Amazon.

The UPC is assigned by the manufacturer.

Now with that said, what are you trying to do?

Hi @GS_3cO,

Thanks for the post. @SELLC's guidance is correct.

To add on to create an ASIN, go through the process outlined in our Add a Product tool. To sell a product available in the Amazon catalog, match it to the existing ASIN by creating an offer.

If your product is not in the Amazon catalog, you will have to create a single new ASIN for the product.

Best regards,
