Attend Seller University for a start:
https://sellercentral.amazon.com/learn/ref=selleru_redirect_v1
Keep reading the forums to learn what NOT to do.
Forget anything you "learned" on tiktok or you-tube.

If i were you , i will get my bachelor's degree at the Seller university and Associate degree from the forum. The forum is a sine qua non for anyone who wants to succeed on Amazon. All the non-sense on Tiktok and Youtube will not help you. Those are entertainers who wants your money . If it is that easy, they will be on Amazon
The real teachers are on the forum. Sometimes they will hit you hard. Please do not take anything they say personal. It is for your own good. Let me lend you a hand - pls do not be rude to those veterans. If you are not, they can hold your hands to the finish-line of your course. Good luck and welcome aboard.

This might not be the best season to begin selling, with no experience ("no idea on how this works"), on this platform.
Scammers and nefarious drop-shippers/aggregators look for newbies w/ few feedback to take advantage of. Sorry, can be predatory here. Best to know now before you've been suspended for not knowing the rules.
Watch Seller University several times, take notes and search the forums for threads on items/brands you plan to sell.
Then, is you have specific questions, return and ask. Right now, you're asking too broad a question.
Good Luck!

First of all, welcome to Amazon. Amazon is a platform that requires continuous learning and updating of your knowledge. It is recommended that you continue to learn relevant knowledge through a series of channels such as the Internet and Amazon University in the course of business operation. Good luck at last

There is a wealth of knowledge on these boards. But like Bookwormapril has mentioned, first avail yourself of the formal information. Then, for specific questions not answered there, come to the group.
Like others have said, Amazon is not what Youtube videos portray. Also remember, Amazon LLC will not make life easy for you. Truth is, Amazon will in many ways be your biggest adversary.
I have been here on Amazon for 20 years, next year. It is a brutal way to make a living. And it gets more complicated all the time. So spend a lot of time studying and move slowly. When you begin making sales go above and beyond at every opportunity. Because negative feedback, claims, etc for a new account can be lethal.
Move slowly and carefully.

Arthur, you need to go to Ebay and Mercari and sell a few things there first. They are more forgiving if you make a mistake and they are an excellent place to learn. If you start out here, not knowing anything and make a mistake, you could very well be kicked off Amazon and they'll never let you come back. Put your account on permanent vacation, sell in other places for six months, and come back and try Amazon again sometime next summer.
