We are increasing the price of our listing to match the other variations.
But whenever we try to raise the price above $27, the buy box is being removed.

There's nothing for them to fix. This SPECIFIC item is now priced higher than it was priced in the past; therefore the BB is likely to disappear.
After the price remains stable for a while, then historic pricing will look better, and you'll probably get the BB back again. But nothing is broken.
If having the BB is critical, try raising the price in stages; go to the max amount this week, then bump it up next after you've gotten some sales at the higher price, repeat until reaching your target price. You'll have to experiment to see how much you can raise it.
