Slow Sales This Month
Hi,
Is it usually a little quiet for sales this time of year, obviously that depends on what you sell, i just sell t-shirts, but my sales seem to be really down & slow this month compared to the rest of the year, i was away last september for 2 weeks so i'm not sure what the trend is like, because the kids have gone back to school, everyones been doing things all august, and now people saving christmas, am i right in thinking this? Yesterday i spent £26 in ads and i had £31 sales, quite possibly one of my worst days ever for ROAS at 1.22 :(

Hi @Seller_TufyJDtetbrlU,
Thank you for your post and for starting a discussion.
What about other sellers? How is your business going this month?
Best,
Julia.

We see this question come up time and time again, but it really is impossible to answer, as it depends on what you sell, whether seasonal or not, your pricing compared to other sellers, and so many other possible factors can influence your level of sales.

Also sell t-shirts. Definitely down on last year, which was a touch slower for us than usual September's are.
We have tons of lines out of stock, though, which isn't usual for us, so hard to say how much is down to that.
We also do school uniforms through our offline business, and prices have gone up a fair bit for them because suppliers have raised prices a lot overt the last 12 months. I wouldn't be surprised if the need to shell out for new uniform items right after the summer, which is tougher on families financially already, might have seriously hurt spending power at the moment. Hopefully energy prices continuing to go down in Autumn, along with the reduction in food inflation will start to help out a bit.

Use the down time to work on ads. There are loads of help pages/tutorials on Amazon. There are plenty of different types of ads to play with.
Ad spend should never be more than 10% of your total sales, and even that's pushing it for me.

Personally I'm not finding it slow, there's a myriad of variables at play.
