3 of our ASINs were deactivated for violating Amazon Drug Policy.
We accidentally recently updated the Product Title using the words "Oil Extractor". Amazon says this references Butane Hash Oil Extractor, Butane Honey Oil Extractor, BHO Extractor.

We made a regretful serious mistake. We recently updated the above ASIN Product titles with the words “Oil Extractor”. The phrase “Oil Extractor” triggered the removal of these ASINs due to Amazon’s Restricted Products and Drug policies of Butane Hash Oil Extractor, Butane Honey Oil Extractor, BHS Extractor.
As a seller on Amazon for 15 years, we understand the seriousness of any Restricted Product violation.
Following are the CORRECTIVE ACTIONS TAKEN, LESSONS LEARNED AND OUR POA.
CORRECTIVE ACTIONS TAKEN IMMEDIATELY taken after infringement notice:
On October 20, date of infringement notice, we:
1. Reviewed Amazon’s Drugs and Drug Paraphernalia Policy
2. Reviewed Amazon’s Restricted Products Policy
3. Reviewed in great detail the deactivated ASINs listed above.
4. Upon identifying the word “Oil Extractor” in our title, we immediately removed those words and any references to the concept of extract from the
a. Product Title,
b. Product Bullets,
c. Description,
d. Search Terms and
e. Images.
5. After reviewing the deactivated ASINs, we reviewed our entire catalog for any other references to Extractor and made sure all catalog listings do not use this word and are in compliance.
6. The content of all deactivated ASINs above have been updated removing any possible reference to extraction.
7. We closed all deactivated listings to comply while this is being reviewed.
LESSON LEARNED:
We learned that ALL words need to be thoroughly considered and checked against Restricted Product and Drug Paraphernalia policies. No assumptions should be made as to the innocence of a word.
PREVENTATIVE PLAN OF ACTION TO TAKE IN THE FUTURE:
1. PRIOR TO ALL PRODUCT LISTINGS OR EDITS, we will check ALL words or combination of words in a Product Title, Bullets, Images and Keywords for any possible reference to a Restricted Product or Drug Paraphernalia.
2. IMMEDIATELY on notice of this infringement, WE CREATED ONE CONTENT / EXPERT on our team. Others within our organization will not be allowed to edit or create product listings.
3. Weekly, the responsible Content Expert will review Amazon’s Restricted Product and Drug Policies to ensure policy compliance.
4. Weekly, the responsible Content / Trademark Expert will review listing content Amazon’s Restricted Product and Drug Policies to ensure policy compliance.
We SHOULD NOT have used the word “Oil Extractor” in the product titles and have updated ALL listing content to correct this violation.
APPEAL TO REINSTATE
