Notice: Policy Wartning - why did I recive this warning?

Received a policy warning email from Amazon (see below) concerning Copyright Infringement. The listing has been removed form our inventory (first moved to closed listings by amz and then deleted altogether by us). Why did we get this email? We sell used books and DVDs/CDs. We were not gated from selling items from this particular DVD label. Should we contact the person whose contact information amz provided us? We have no intention of re-listing this item. It would interesting to know just exactly how offering a used DVD for sale on amz infringes copyright. Is there a course of action we can take that would resolve this issue?

"Hello, We are contacting you because we received a report of copyright infringement from the rights owner listed below. Sellers on Amazon.com are not allowed to create listings or detail pages that infringe copyright.

We removed the content listed at the end of this email. We may let you list this content again if we receive a retraction of the complaint from the rights owner. Their contact information can be found below.

Xxxx Xxxxxxx

How do I reactivate my listing?

Please visit the Account Health page in Seller Central (https://sellercentral.amazon.com/performance/dashboard?ref=ah_em_nr) to appeal this listing deactivation. Please click on the "Appeal" link next to the listing in the "Product and Policy Violations" section on the account health page.

If the rights owner does not retract their complaint, or you do not provide supporting information, we may provide your contact information to the rights owner upon their request.

We consider allegations of intellectual property infringement a serious matter and your account is under review. If we receive more complaints about your listings, we may not allow you to sell on Amazon.com. To learn more about this policy, search for "Intellectual Property Violations" in Seller Central Help. Amazon tells you why your listing was taken down. Amazon is not a court. They will allow you to do things until the rights owner steps in and says no. Your solution is to either file a DMCA counter notice saying that this is false and then wait to see if the rights owner files a lawsuit against you, or contact the rights owner and ask them to retract the copyright infringement, or delete the listing and walk away.

Since it is a used item your other options, like invoices, are not available.
