Assuming this was a self-fulfilled order, wait for Amazon to snag the money from you (do not manually refund).

Once Amazon DOES take your money, you can file a safe-T claim for reimbursement.

However, wait for more input from others here...

In the meantime, report the buyer for abuse HERE

Well, this happens every day to sellers, and it sounds like your first time. However, the most important part was left out. Was the buyer refunded by RSF?

Of course, Amazon's return policies and return policies of retailers all over the country say you have to return the product purchased to receive a refund. Of course, being the owner of your licensed business, you do have the right to offer free refunds with no returns. Now with that said, here are your choices.

- File a claim Sefe-T claim with Amazon. We have been very successful filing claims at $25.00 and under and receiving reimbursement. But with a $200 reimbursement sot, not even good luck will help.

- File a police report. This will be of no value in collecting Reimbursement, unless your Retailers Insurance Police has a provision for it and you have a zero deductible.

- Take the buyer to court. We have been very successful in doing so. While Amazon calls the buyers, Theirs, the buyer defrauded my legal business in my state, by using the Amazon site to do so. Every state has laws to protect businesses from fraud. Use them.

As it happens we are dealing with almost the same situation here at the moment as well.

Here is what we did:

1. Document the package that you received by taking images of the entire box, in and out. Take a picture of it on the scales.

2. Create a case with seller support detailing what has happened and attach all images to the case. This is so that once you have to fight the AtoZ or chargeback, you have one more bit of data for Amazon to look at, and it shows how proactive you are.

3. Message the customer that you have received the box back empty and that you are unable to process a return. That you are sure it was a mistake, and if the customer kindly sends the item(s) back, you will be more than happy to process the return and refund. In this message make sure send pics and reference the weight you sent it out originally and the weight it came back to you at.

4. Go to the refund center and process a 100% restocking fee, with the radio box checked for entire item missing and the reason "empty box" and make notes.

5. Keep the empty box.

This is about all you can do directly on Amazon. I have been assured by Seller Support that this is all you need to do to defend the AtoZ or Chargeback that will come (and has worked for me in the past).

Off of platform, there are options too. I generally wait as I am busy and want to see if Amazon resolves it.:

1. File a stolen goods police report in HIS town (where he stole the items). Some cops will not want to do this, but press the issue and get the report. It helps with the next

2 Send a certified letter the customer stating that you will file with the local Small Claims court in YOUR town, and they will be required to travel to your town to defend this or there will be a default judgement.

3. Contact a collections agency and let them pursue the person. Yes, you have to share the collections, but some is better than none and it creates a lot of pain for the seller who is scamming you.

I hardly ever do these last 3 unless its over $1000 USD as it just isnt worth my time (unless I get emotionally angry enough). But its business, so do as you see fit.

Also, you can 100% document this and provide it to your CPA/Accountant as a deduction on your taxes.

Hello @Seller_cUCt5hkthK2H4

Thank you for posting your inquiry to the Forums.

To echo the guidance provided by other members of the community, if Amazon initiated the refund to the buyer via Refund at First Scan, you can file a SAFE-T Claim for reimbursement. This help page provides steps on how to file a claim for your reference if needed.

If the return package was lost in transit, you can open a claim with the carrier. This help page provides additional information on filing a claim based on the carrier used.

Please feel free to update this thread if you need additional guidance from the community.
