£1,000 Advertising spend just for yesterday
Hello all,
This is the second time i have woken up to a large advertising spend.
Last week i ran a campaign and had a budget of £100 set. I paused the campaign and around 22:00 and headed to bed. The following morning i checked and spend was around the £250....i was shocked as there were no increase bids by a %.
Yesterday with the same campaign i made the campaign active again with the budget set at £100. Again i paused it this time around 23:00. Woke up this morning with around a £1,000 spend. I am absolutely shocked as its such a large spend.
Now for the first one last week Amazon came back and asked for proof I had paused the campaign, the only proof I had was my word that I cancelled them, I have a feeling its going to be the same again for the £1,000 send yesterday.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

You might need to share some screenshots of your setup. I can't say I've personally known or seen on Campaign Manager overspending randomly - there is likely to be something in the setup causing it.

When this happened once and you didn't have the screen shot, you really should have made sure to take a screen shot when you paused from then on.
That said, if your budget was set that much lower than the spend it shouldn't matter whether you pressed pause or not, it simply shouldn't have spent that much.

Hello @Seller_V3Ql3mTyi1hml!
Thanks for posting on Seller Forums.
Did you contact Seller Support in regards to your issue? If yes - would you mind sharing the case ID with me?

There has to be something in the settings, i've never known it to over spend and i run about 500 different ads. Some screenshots of your ad will help if you want to post them up

Does it show up in 'History'? Go to Campaign manager and History is down the bottom of the list of options on left, it should show actions taken. I think you can see overall in Campaign Manager or you can click on specific campaign and chose 'history' on the left at the bottom of the menu. Fingers crossed for you pausing your campaign shows up in there. You may have to set date range but pausing campaigns is showing up for me there with exact time and date.

Also check your campaign settings and make sure its not set to allow Dynamic Bids, Placement Adjustments and no Budget Rules are set allowing it to over run (all under Campaign Settings, Budget on left when looking at a specific campaign). Out of interest, is your cost per click rocketing? or are you getting a much higher volume of clicks? Are the clicks generating sales or is it money thrown to the wind?
