Amazon shipping label not delivered on time

Hello,

I recently had a return request for a late delivery. This item was shipped on time using a label bought from Amazon. I've heard that you are insured if you buy the label on Amazon, is this true? I can't intercept the package to have it delivered back to me. Does this mean the customer will get a full refund and my product while I'm left with nothing?

You are covered against INR (Item Not Received) claims when the buyer files an A-Z Claim. If the item is received by the buyer late and they just initiate a return, then that is not covered by Amazon and you are responsible for the return shipping. I would recommend refunding any outbound shipping you charged, if any, in such as a case as well since the item did not arrive on time.

Do not refund anything until the item is actually returned. Amazon may RFS on your behalf but that will not happen until the return is on it's way back to you.

You might be able to file a Safe-T claim if:

  • Amazon determines that the customer abused Amazon's return or refund policy.
  • An item is returned to you in unsellable condition and Amazon determines you were not at fault. You can find some examples of return reasons and faulted parties here.
  • A materially different item is returned to you and Amazon determines you were not at fault.
  • The customer did not return the product, evident by lack of "Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA)" or a carrier’s "first scan" in a return tracking.
  • Buyer returned item after the return period: You are eligible for reimbursement if Amazon initiated a return on behalf of a customer for an item that is outside of the return window.
