Copright Infringement reporting abuse
I received a faulty copyright infringement notice on my best selling asin. Probably from a competitor.
They copy and pasted my listing text word for word on a separate asin and then reported me for copyright infringement.
Amazon then proceeded to take my listing down.
This is ridiculous can anyone help

Hello @Seller_Epe3iVk6ZGwvL,
Thank you for reaching out through Seller Forums!
I understand you received a copyright complaint that you believe was received in error.
Jumping into it, I would like to provide the policy page for sellers on Intellectual Property for you to review. There is also a Copyright FAQ help page that answers common questions. These complaints come from a Rights Owner of a brand, stating you may have violated their Copyright. Copyrights are legal protections for original works of authorship. Amazon always takes claims of Intellectual Property(IP) seriously even if the seller is infringing unintentionally.
A question to think about:
What steps do you take to ensure you are not violating any rights pertaining to copyright?
When addressing the complaint, if you believe the violation was placed in error, you will have an option to submit a DMCA(Digital Millennium Copyright Act) counter-notice. You should have the option to submit this via the appeal button in the account health page next to the violation. The information that must be included in the counter-notice is found below:
- Your physical or electronic signature. You can sign electronically by typing your name with an indication that it is intended to be a signature: “/s/ Seller Name.”
- Identification of the material that has been removed or to which access has been disabled, and the specific location where the material appeared before it was removed or access was disabled. An ASIN is generally sufficient.
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief that the material was removed or disabled as a result of error or misidentification of the material to be removed or disabled.
- Your name, address, and telephone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the Federal District Court for the judicial district in which your seller address is located; or, if you are located outside the United States, to the jurisdiction of the United States District Court for the Western District of Washington, and that you will accept service of process from the person who provided notification of alleged copyright infringement or an agent of such person.
I want to ensure you are provided with the best support possible. For this, I am going to forward your information to the Account Health Support team. Please ensure your contact information is up-to-date as they may reach out.
I hope the information I provided is helpful. If you have any further questions regarding this, please reply in this thread.
I wish you the best,
Webb
