Old deactive individual account and now want to sell again as LLC - how to proceed with new account?

Hello,

I am looking to start selling again on amazon as an LLC. I previously sold under an individual seller account and I was wondering if I should close and reapply as LLC business or change this current account?

If this old account has been deactivated by Amazon, you first have to fix and reinstate it. The system will recognize that your "new" account is related to the old, deactivated one and would deactivate a new account too.

If you want to sell as a "Single Member LLC" you don't have to change anything in your old account. Single Member LLCs are considered "Individual".

You say the account was not active, so was it suspended by Amazon. or did you just stop selling and it became inactive and they want you to reinstate it?

IF it was SUSPENDED for a violation of any kind you are done. Period.

If it is dormant you need to provide the information Amazon is requesting.

If YOU closed the account, you need to follow this --

Here is a recent post from Amazon which seems to be a revision of their past 'one and done' policy.

GETTING A NEW ACCOUNT AFTER SELF CLOSURE

According to this post by @Connor_Amazon you are permitted to open another account (with caveats) if you SELF CLOSED your account.

This appears to be a change (different interpretation) of Amazon policies as they have been stated on the Forum for years.

“You can open another account if you self-closed it. If it was deactivated than thats a different story.

I've closed my account in the past and was able to get another one with a different e-mail. But you also can be a subject of additional verification and or review since this will be considered your second account.“
