Can you get approval to sell a brand if the brand approves you on brand registry even if Amazon says they are not receiving applications

I want to sell a brand but Amazon gives the following message

Selling Application

We are not accepting applications to sell:

Other Pet Supplies category in Refurbished condition(s)

Other Pet Supplies category in Collectible condition(s)

Other (Brand Name) branded in New, Used, Refurbished, Collectible condition(s)

I am aware that as a brand owner ( someone other than me in this case) can manage selling account through brand registry. If they give me access as brand representativ or reseller in brand registry by adding my Seller ID/Token. Will I get access to sell their product on Amazon even if Amazon says not accepting applications at the time?

Hi @Seller_Va6V0U8O2b2FS,

I understand you're hoping the brand's approval might help bypass the application restriction. Let me share what I found in the help documentation about this.

According to the help page Brand Registry selling roles, when a brand owner adds you as a Brand Representative or Reseller, this grants you access to specific brand benefits like A+ Content and Stores. You can find the full list of these benefits in the "Brand selling benefits" section of that page.

However, these roles are separate from Amazon's selling restrictions. In the "How to use Brand Selection Panel" section of Manage your Brands, it explains that "To protect our customers and maintain their trust, we place selling restrictions on certain products and brands." This means that even with brand authorization, you'll still need to wait until Amazon opens up applications for that brand/category.

I know this probably isn't the answer you were hoping for, but I hope this helps explain how the two systems work together.

Best regards, Michael

Hi there @Seller_Va6V0U8O2b2FS,

While some of the information provided by @Seller_i6S8knzW6zU6Z is correct, if you do have a relationship with the Brand, if they add you in a selling role, you may be be able to sell those products depending on the specific restriction. My recommendation is to work to with the Brand to get added as a Reseller Role. If after getting this role you still have issues please provide your most recent Seller Support Case ID and I will see what further actions exist. Thank you for your understanding.
