a to z claim granted

Amazon just granted a A to Z claim without even notifying us we had a claim for package not delivered. Package was not delivered and UPS has lost the package but buy shipping was purchased through Amazon. I should not be refunding this order and the A to Z claim should not go against my account.

It is a common problem. Did the item get scanned by the carrier as received for shipment on time?

You do not do refund. Make sure your account is set up to get the emails from Amazon. Appeal it. If you bought Amazon shipping and ship in the time allotted, you should win. But if you refunded -- it is all over.

Amazon just granted a A to Z claim without even notifying us ...

that is not possible as Amazon states specifically in their A-to-Z Policy that buyers must first contact Sellers 48 hours before an A-to-Z case can be opened

Surely you must be wrong.

Certainly you mis-understand.

Amazon Policies are Rigid- unfailing and the nearest thing to the IronClad Ten Commandments written in Stone as there is in this day and age.

You come back and tell us how this was simply your mistaken impression of what has transpired.....

we'll be waiting.

We had a similar situation, package was delivered to the WRONG address by the carrier, we realized it and msged customer that we have sent another one, customer opened claim, was granted A-Z and refund and the second item delivered to the customer, now there's no refund back to us and the customer HAS the item.

File a SafeTClaim ASAP.

Yes, we have to check A-Z because Amazon does not always notify. It sucks, but it is reality.

They also don't automatically refund. Either you refund (and then there is no SafeTClaim allowed), or have them file thru Amazon and we have to respond. Again, bad policy activity, but that is Amazon...

There are A to Z claims that get opened by the buyer customer service and those don't generally contact the seller first.

If there is an A to Z claim granted to the buyer for an item not received then you should appeal with all the information about the Order, the ship by date the date you shipped and the date the item was scanned into the carrier's possession. Provide the tracking info from the carrier. Also include that you purchased the shipping through Amazon buy shipping and that their guarantee means the a to z should be amazon funded and that it should NOT affect your metrics.

This should work as long as you made sure the carrier scanned the package into their possession before the end of the ship by window AND this was not an order where amazon said you had to use signature confirmation (since apparently there are some buyers or orders that Amazon has decided are too risky now.)

I had something quite similar happen about 2 weeks ago. I received a package in the mail that I knew I had mailed out by the packaging but odd address label on it. Thought it was strange but took it home, opened it and it was a book I had mailed about 2 weeks before that until I looked closely at the book. It wasn't my book, the shipping material had an oil on it (not on the book) and a note saying that they couldn't give the book as a gift. Never heard anything about it before they returned it. Notified Amazon that it wasn't the same book, completed all forms, enclosed photos and was denied as they wanted more information. Appealed again and informed them they had all the photos and information I had as no one notified me at all about anything. Denied again. I have an opinion about Amazon but I really shouldn't post it here.
