Help! What to do with missing packages?

Says package delivered but customer checked & no package. I believe it got delivered to the wrong mailbox but anywho, I did call their local USPS to open up a service request investigation. Waiting on the 3 days they said for their investigation. What is the PROPER WAY to deal with missing packages???

I CANT keep resending FREE stuff PLUS paying for additional shipping everytime the post office makes a mistake. I did purchase shipping thru the platform so HOW DOES THAT PROTECT THE SELLER??? Besides doing the service request investigation, what else is the seller soppoused to do??? What if you don't have more merchandise to resend to customer?? Do I loose out on the money? Does Amazon refund WHO ? Am I soppoused to file a safe T claim or an A TO Z claim?? It's not my fault the post office made the mistake so what do I do next ? Is there a secret policy that helps the seller? I've heard people saying that it's best to buy the shipping directly from the platform because "your protected if anything happens ", BUT HOW EXACTLY???

I appreciate ANY help.

There is only 1 proper way. You do not resend anything! Ever. If a buyer reports that they have not received their package by the latest expected delivery day, you need to issue a full refund. Doesn't matter if it shows delivered or not.

If you use Amazon shipping there is a certain level of protection for items that are shipped on time and have received at least one scan along the way. In this case, you would ask the buyer to contact Amazon, as the item was shipped through them.

correct, though that sounds scary. You have to be SURE first, that it was shipped and scanned in BEFORE the due date/time. On some occasions they don't fund the claim and ding you, if that happens come back here for the next step. If you follow the guideline it shouldn't happen.

Amazon ONLY cares about your shipping out on time (note again, printing the label is NOT good enough) and that you responded to the customer on time.
