eBay up, Amazon down

I've been selling on Amazon and eBay for almost 15 years - same items, same prices on both platforms (mostly used CDs, books, DVDs) - and yesterday, for the first time ever, I had more eBay sales than Amazon.

Is this a just a one off, or maybe a sign of what the future will bring?

Nothing can beat Amazon, its the largest E-commerce platform in the entire world no wonder the founder Jeff Bezos was the top 1 richest person in the world for a very long time until Elon Musk broke the record. Amazon is a known platform, it is spread across countries and almost every individual buys products from Amazon. There are certain tricks and tips to manage your business well and make more sales of items. Everything is in the mind, once you get a complete knowledge of the work you are doing and once you research well enough then this business is actually successful. Also no one knows anything regarding future but Amazon would stay successful for more upcoming years but none can predict whats gonna happen 15-20 years down the line.

I wouldn't personally class one day out of 15 years as a sign of things to come.

In our personal experience, Amazon is still the main marketplace - ebay a close second - though both sites require more work than ever to eek out sales right now. But that is to be expected given the economic climate right now.

However, sales have been really slow last 2 weeks, not sure everyone has the same experience?

I fear people are not buying in Amazon because of the huge Black Friday wait and anticipation.

I would almost always say that I sell far more on ebay than on Amazon , but the past couple of weeks it has been completely turned around.

10 times more sales on Ebay, with 90% less stock listed. Ebay is far more buoyant for me (CDs / vinyl)

I find Ebay much easier to use, there Seller Support is more efficient, sales are ok, profit is better.

Will move some of my business away from Amazon as after doing some analysis the profits are bad and Seller Support are about as dire as it could get.

We have noticed a decline on here over the last few weeks with an unusual increase on the bay. Generally we do 3 to 4 times on Amazon in comparison however something has changed as you have said. Strange indeed.
