US seller expanding to Canada

Hi, I want to ask that, We are currently selling on the Amazon US marketplace and are looking to expand into the Canadian market. Do we need to send our inventory directly to Amazon's fulfillment centers in Canada to sell our products there, or can we send our inventory to Amazon's US fulfillment centers and have them manage Canadian orders through our US inventory?

For FBA you need to list on amazon.ca and to send to a Canadian Amazon warehouse. You need a freight forwarder to pay the Canadian GST and import custom duties for you.

I would suggest two options.

1. Remote fulfillment - You can send your inventory to a USA FBA center. If your item is allowed to be sold on Amazon.CA (sometimes there are things that you cannot sell on the Amazon.CA website), you can use remote fulfillment to connect your USA inventory to the CA inventory. However, USA customers will receive their purchases quicker than CA customers because Amazon will have to transfer your inventory from the USA to CA. This tends to not be very appealing and leads to less than average sales.

2.Send your inventory to a CA fulfillment center - You can send your inventory straight to a CA fulfillment center and CA customers will receive their purchases much faster than remote fulfillment. However, there are some Canadian regulations that require your item to have bilingual labeling (English and French). If you were to use remote fulfillment instead, you would not need to abide by this rule.

I'm sure that there are many details remaining for you to make an optimal decision such as the requirements for the CA market depending on your product category.

Hey @Seller_w59cCNuyJFzVE, as @Seller_NbYSGJ8Tehgbv suggested, Remote Fulfillment with FBA is a great option if you don't want to send inventory to a Canadian fulfillment center. Review the resource linked and let me know if you have any questions.
