Generic for name brand
I’m a little frustrated because I got ungated to sell a brand. One of the listings for this brand is some how listed as generic and it is not allowing me to list this item. It has about 10 sellers on the listing, when I contact support, I just get a generic computerized response : As per the investigation result, we are able to see that the ASIN provided in the overview is associated with The Brand, and Generics Policy restricts contribution on only Generic/unbranded ASIN's.
So they say there is nothing they can do about it. I can understand if the actual bran was on the listing, or if all of the listings for this brand were listed as generic. But they aren’t, I am able to list on all other listings of this brand, nut not this one…
Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Since you are new, be sure that you you are NOT confusing AMAZON allowing you to list (or at least "ungate") an item or category and actually being APPROVED to sell a product. AMAZON is only interested in FEES. They will allow a chimpanzee to list if it means they collect $$$$$.
For gated items you are required to meet the following --
Are you authorized IN WRITING by the BRAND to sell their items on Amazon? That means from the BRAND, not some random wholesale source that can NOT authorize anything – they only SELL.
More and more brands have provided a "whitelist" of their approved sellers and if YOU are NOT on the list you will be stopped in your tracks and probably hit with an IP violation.
The second (and probably more important) question is -- Where are you sourcing your products? Are you buying direct from the brand or through an AUTHORIZED wholesale source?
NOTE – FOR 'GATED' CATEGORIES' DOING RA IS NOT PERMITTED ON AMAZON. PERIOD. If you have to 'apply to sell' you WILL need an INVOICE and not a receipt.

I had the same thing happen. I put in the UPC code and the product is already listed with the brand name as "generic." The product image clearly shows the actual brand name in big bold letters and the UPC code belongs to the brand, yet when I show all this to seller support, I get the same response as you that the Generics policy restricts contribution, when the whole point of contacting them was to let them know that the product is NOT generic so that hopefully that could be rectified. I don't understand how these listings were created in the first place using generic as the brand when the UPC prefix belongs to a brand.
