Amazon displays one delivery date to customers, and holds us accountable to a different date?

why does Amazon do this? We currently have some templates setup for 5 day delivery, how ever Amazon displays this as actually 6 business days for delivery, meaning if someone orders from sat-mon night, Amazon shows the customer delivery by Monday, 11th. However we see the orders still need to be delivered by the 8th, 5 business days. We are losing the buy box because of this. Why does Amazon do this with manual set templates?

"We are losing the buy box because of this."

Sellers never know why the lose the Buy Box. The Buy Box is not a right or a given. It is like the old Clairol TV add used to say, "Only your hairdresser knows for sure". Now just replace the hairdresser with Amazon. It is run by an Algorithm Bot that giveth and taketh away.

There can only be one Buy Box for each unique product. Sellers seem to enjoy it when they have it, and then complain when they do not. But remember, when a seller is disappointed with the loss of the Box, they seem to forget, another seller is happy with that loss, because it is their gain.

"Why does Amazon do this with manual set templates?"

Amazon does do this. Selling FBM, we consistently set our shipping to 5 days, however we always ship the same day or next. We received a notification that Amazon was going to automatically set our shipping to 2 days to help us out.

I would experiment with the templates to see what works for the business.

Best,

Dominic
