You can't change Amazon requirements. They are set in back end code.

Note: I didn't even know that 9 was acceptable at all to Amazon. I've never seen it in the coding.

Read over:

- Listing requirements: Product IDs (GTINs)

- Product ID (GTIN) requirements by category

The following are the most commonly used GTINs in the Amazon catalog:

  • Universal Product Code (UPC) - 12 characters
  • International Standard Book Number (ISBN) -10 characters
  • European Article Number (EAN) - 13 characters
  • Japanese Article Number (JAN) - 13 characters

Valid Formats: A 10-to-13 digit value.

Hi @Smart_e_shop_963,

Thank you for your post. I understand you are dealing with Inform Act Tax registration issues.

Prior to my reply here, I have reached out to the relevant team and can confirm that your case is currently under review. While this review in under way, you will not need to take further action until its completion.

With this in mind, should a new review be needed, you may need to submit either a W-8 or W-9 in addition to the the tax ID number you are referencing. Within the INFORM Act Tax Questionnaire, there should be an informational icon that links you to an external help page. According to annotations found in this external help page, Qatari Tax ID numbers begin with the digit of "5". This initial digit identifies the number as originating from Qatar. You may want to consider removing initial "5" so that the remaining nine digits meet the 9 digit requirement you are referencing.

When submitting this information (and any other supporting documentation) you will need to ensure that all information, including ID numbers, will need to match against each other and what was already within the account.

While going through this process, please provide any updates or follow up questions here in the thread, and we will assist you as best we can.

Please feel free to reach out with any further questions or account updates, and we will assist you as best we can.

Regards,

Troy
