Sponsored Ad Error - daily budget exceeded

Can a moderator please help me understand why my advertising costs exceeded my daily budget? I started the ad yesterday, (Wednesday Dec. 4, 2024) and the issue happened today, Dec. 5, 2024.

Was it on a high volume keyword with a small budget? What can happen is Amazon will keep displaying ads to customers if you are even $.01 under budget. So on a high volume keyword this could potentially be 1000s or 10000s impressions. Of these available ads some will get clicked, but they don't stop being displayed as potential click until you hit your budget max. hence how you can go over budget.

It could be that you did not use up your full daily budget on day one so Amazon rolled the leftover amount into day two. If you take the average of the two days it should equal your daily budget.

Appreciate you looking to the forums for some guidance on this topic, @Seller_ERH7IiR1y5OfX- as the others in the thread noted, the daily budget can roll over. I'd recommend reading throughthis page for complete details, as the daily budget amount is averaged over the course of a calendar month. On any given day you could spend less than your daily budget, or up to 100% more than your average daily budget using leftover amounts from previous days in the month. This system allows you to benefit from high traffic days.

The above page also provides direction on changing your daily budget or moving to a lifetime budget system, if you find that works better for your campaign.

I hope this helps, and thanks again for the post!
