Amazon VTR & Royal Mail click and drop confusion

Hi everyone  ,

I know there have been a few questions on VTR recently and I’m having my own issues.

  • I currently use Royal mail click and drop integrated with Amazon and have done for the last 2 years with no issues

  • I manually mark my orders as dispatched in Amazon selecting Royal Mail 1st class stamps/franking (as advised by Amazon) as the delivery service (after the label is printed from click and drop)

  • My Valid Tracking Rate is therefore at 0% and always had been, Amazon confirmed this was the correct method to use on several occasions last year.

Now over the last week I’ve received an email from Amazon telling me I must improve my VTR rate as close to 95% as possible or risk account suspension. My issue is that I’ve had 2 separate bits of advice from different Amazon support staff as follows:

  1. Continue working they way I have and don’t change, selecting the franking method i always have done
  2. I need to start buying royal mail postage using Amazon direct now and not use Click and drop (which will be a massive change for how we work)

Does anyone else have the same issue I have or work the same way I do currently or have any answers as to what need to be done?

I’ve went back to Amazon yet again on this as I need clarity

thanks in advance

That became invalid in March

Is it a business click and drop account and if so, what service code do you use ? And what format ie letter, large letters etc

I actually have an email from Amazon support when I asked about the new VTR changes in February and they replied back

“Based on the current information, kindly be informed that as per policy you may continue to use this method after these changes take effect” (when i told them how i select franking option)

I will change to Amazon purchasing Royal mail stamps going forward, how much is it for 1st class postage using Amazon do you know as using Click and drop business I get a discounted rate so I’m guessing its going to costs sellers more going direct with Amazon?

Also Royal mail collect all my mail on 1 manifest via click and drop so I guess Amazon postage will need to be posted separately going forward?

I’ve emailed Amazon and had no reply about this.

Unfortunately seller support seem to have no idea how VTR works in the UK and often give incorrect and conflicting information

The mods here are aware, and presumably Amazon are aware, but no-one seems to care about sellers enough to give us proper support, though the new mods (even if they do pick and choose their “battles” carefully, which seems to be avoiding VTR at all costs) are quite helpful.

So if I’m selling 100 items a day paying full postage costs on Amazon that’s 10p per item more expensive than Click and drop 1st class stamp price, or over £3000 a year extra to print the same labels using Amazon than Royal mail :frowning:

Not much i can do I guess
