Copyright infringement

Hello,

I received a Policy warning for Copyright infringement that a text on our listing is infringing someone else's copyright and our listing was suppressed. The notice mentioned that we can delete the content and appeal via Account Health or dispute with a DMCA. The fact is the content was our original creation but to reinstate quicker the listing I decided to remove the content. After removing the content, went to submit an appeal with Account. But our only options were

- I understand the policy and have evidence or documentation to submit for review to confirm my compliance with the policy.

OR

- I understand the policy and acknowledge the violation. Select this option if you do not wish to reactivate your listing.

I selected the first option. This brought me to a DMCA counter-notice form. I proceeded with the form as I did no see any other option.

Can anyone let me know if I must have done things differently and how? Was there any other way to appeal based on the removed content?

from the information you have provided, I see that you have received a copy right infringement policy violation.

Per our intellectual property policy for sellers, all sellers must comply with all federal, state and local laws and amazon policies and may not violate the IP rights of brands or other rights owners. The 3 main types of IP rights are copyright, trademark and patent.

When appealing a copyright infringement violation, the option to address it is to dispute with the DMCA counter notice if you believe you have not infringed on the owners copyright or you can acknowledge the violation. If you do acknowledge the violation, you are acknowledging that that you have infringed on someone else's copyright and no longer wish to sell the product. Once a violation has been acknowledged, you won't be able to relist the product. By removing the content will not remove the violation.
