Sending a box of thousands of mixed SKUs- Best Way to Pack?

Hi guys,

I'm looking to start selling smaller items via FBA but I've been struggling to wrap my head around the most effective way to send these into the warehouse.

Say for example I'm interested in sending in 1000 units in total and these are comprised of 10 different SKUS (so 10 SKUs x 100 units each) to the fulfillment centre.

As far as I can make our, my current options are:

1. Send a box with 1000 loose units which will need to be individually scanned into the warehouse. This seems like an excessive amount of work for the staff and quite inefficient.

2. Create casepack templates and send 10 individual boxes to Amazon. This is quite expensive and increases the chance of boxes going missing.

Is there a third option where I can combine these products into 10 smaller boxes (1 box per SKU), then put those into one big box and send that to Amazon as a single package?

Many thanks

Hey Buckle,

Been doing FBA for around 5 years now and the only 2 ways are your steps 1 and 2.

We do both SPD boxes and also pallet shipments using case pack quantities.

With both ways we still find a 1-10 unit discrepancy on most our shipments above 1000 units, which begs the question if they scan everything anyway whether it be case packed or not.

we find our Pallet shipments get booked in much faster, this may be due to it being a pallet and not case quantity.

With SPD we do not see a difference regarding getting your shipment received whether you send in 1000 units of the same product(case pack quantity) or 1000 units of mixed SKUS.

I understand you are trying to make it easier for the staff at amazons end, maybe to get it booked in quicker, but i can guarantee you the majority of boxes they book in at a fulfilment centre will be filled to the brim with as many products as possible for the cheapest shipping.

So if i were you i would do option 1, but completely up to you to trial for yourself.

Kind Regards,

Elliot
