Buyer Return Abuse

We have a buyer that has purchase duplicates of the same ASIN only to request to return it when they receive it. Pretty much every purchase is a return going back as far as two years. We have several Safe-T claims such as Claim details 93745-05200-8412223, however some claims are denied and the buyer continues to be able to buy, and claim product damage and return.

We understand products can be defective, but when 99% of goods shipped to other buyers are not returned and received in good condition but 100% of their purchases going back two years is returned with them claiming damages, this is text book return abuse and fraud and not sure how to prevent since Amazon doesn't allow sellers to block abusive buyers and having cases reviewed seem to fall on deaf ears, wondering if someone in the forums knows of any system to track abusive buyers or a forum mod can provide a way forward to prevent this.

Customers like this make Amazon 100's of millions in transaction fees! We just had one customer bough item 2 day mail return claim was bought by mistake then waited 7 days before returning and returned item that was completely trashed that came from a different seller. We also had another which we missed as we never ship to anyone no matter what if they have a return but their claim was "Item Not Suitable For Their Collection" and they only return items packaging and get their RFS which then we are lucky to recover 50% from safety total POOP SHOW going on here!

I think that for Amazon should allow Sellers to FLAG and REPORT any customers that Sellers believe are committing abuse. And, the same way Customers can see the ratings of Sellers, Sellers should be able to see the ratings of buyers. For example, how many times has a buyer been reported by Sellers as being abusive. And Sellers should be able to refuse to show offers to Buyers with high abuse ratings.

In reviewing the SAFE-T Claim ID, I was glad to see our team granted the claim to help cover return label costs. Please let me know any questions there, and do continue to report the buyer as appropriate so our team has record of the behavior, and can take enforcement action as appropriate.

Hopefully one of the moderators will forward this information to Amazon for consideration.

AMAZON, IMAGINE how much THIS ONE seller, @Seller_w6aLwkKdfu3L0 , has lost in fraudulent returns from just 1 customer. THOUSANDS OF SELLERS, ARE BEING HURT BY THIS POLICY, OF NOT BEING ALLOWED TO BLOCK CROOKED CUSTOMERS, INCLUDING MYSELF. I have at LEAST 3 different customers MYSELF AS WELL, with 6 consecutive returns. I lose about $2000 per year in damaged/stolen/stripped returns of products with 50+ positive orders, and 100% customer satisfaction rates. 1 bad customer who literally returns everything they buy is all it takes. ONE BAD CUSTOMER, WITH A 100% RETURN RATE, can literally "rack up" dozens of seller defects, and ruin dozens of products with otherwise PERFECT ratings, ruining the sellers Voice of the Customer ratings, for dozens of products. And we are POWERLESS TO BLOCK THEM WHILE THE THEFT/FRAUD BUILDS UP. We are talking about sellers losing 1-2 days pay ON EACH CUSTOMER THAT IS A SERIAL RETURNER.

If Amazon ends up reimbursing the seller for fraud (swapped out or parts stolen/stripped products), it costs Amazon THE ENTIRE COST of ORDER, the equivalent of Amazon losing commission on 5 orders each time they have to reimburse for fraud/theft FOR JUST 1 ORDER!

Allowing serial returns to continue to repeatedly abuse Amazons return policy, is NOT benefitting Anyone... 300+ Sellers agree PER POST BELOW. Its costing US thousands, AND AMAZON, MILLIONS OF DOLLARS IN LOST REVENUE. Revenue that could be put into Amazon's expansion, hiring more employees, and investment in new technologies. Amazon, not allowing us to BLOCK bad buyers is putting you back eons, and it DRAWS FRAUD to your website, knowing that there are no ways for sellers to check these buyers, and stop them on their first theft. Amazon Please Consider this man's story above, and the forum below, with 3000+ views, and over 70 different sellers pleading their case:

https://sellercentral.amazon.com/seller-forums/discussions/t/ef8a4afe-d801-4cf8-be34-7a507205cab3?

This is just ONE forum, Amazon. There are probably 100+ forums with sellers BEGGING AMAZON to let us block crooked buyers who are stealing/swapping/ or simply RETURNING EVERYTHING. Other 3rd party etailers have already adopted the policy of sellers blocking bad customers with high return rates and/or product theft. Because Amazon has not allowed this, we have 4 TIMES as many returns on here as we do on ebay, or any other website. I barely have a return rate of 1 in 300 orders on Ebay, but 1 in 90 return them on here. This is because ebay allows us to BLOCK fraudulent customers or those who abuse returns in any way, AFTER the first ORDER. Out of 500 orders a month on here, I have 8 returns per month. AND HALF of those 8 returns are fraudulent (customer theft, destroyed NEW product, or customers with 100% return rates (serial returners). Just those 8 returns, wipe out my profit on nearly 50 orders. One bad customer returning a dozen consecutive orders like the one @Seller_w6aLwkKdfu3L0 is dealing with above, could cost Amazon enough commission to net an overall loss on 100 orders. I don't know why Amazon would WANT customers who steal/swap product, or have 100% return rates, to be drawn to their website. NO ONE, including Amazon, is making money on customers who commit fraud and/or have abusively high return rates.

It's pure fraud. See attached forum. Report EVERY SINGLE CASE of buyer abuse of Amazon's return policy. If we could block buyers the first time it happens, that would have saved you AND Amazon from 12 out of 13 returns. And I am guessing you would have been saved from as much as $500-700 in returns, and Amazon $150-250 in lost commission. The losses are stacking up. Amazon needs to consider allowing us to BLOCK customers who just repeatedly return all of their orders. Alot of people are signing this forum below with a "like". 303 sellers signed it so far, and 3000+ have viewed it. Its sort of a community petition for Amazon to consider.

When my sales go up so do my returns. I wish these nucklehead customers knew what they were doing.
