Unfortunately, if you run a business, you need to be aware and abide by any regulations in all countries you do business in. If your business operates from outside the U.K. and you intend to store goods in the U.K. (e.g. FBA) then you need to be VAT registered before sending the goods. Amazon legally have to take responsibility to ensure sellers comply.

I would think your only option, as you have already stored and sold goods in the U.K., is to register for UK VAT. You already owe HMRC VAT on your prior sales. From what I have seen in other similar posts, you may need to pay this to Amazon, so they can pay the VAT due to HMRC before you can be paid out for your sales.

you can’t blame Amazon because you broke Uk laws! You were legally required to be Vat registered / and still are. Anazon are legally required to make sure sellers comply with their legal requirements if they sell via their site.

You won't be able to get your money unless you register for VAT. Registering is free and you can do it online by yourself. Once this is done and you finally get your money (you will have to jump through many hoops even then), you can decide whether you want to carry on.

If you don't want to carry on, you can close your Amazon account and then, very importantly, you should deregister for VAT on the HMRC website.
