amazon is asking for VAT registration Number from us. We have provided information to amazon about our UK based establishment. is it happening to every seller or there is something wrong with us.

hi. i just got an order with vat on it
i am not vat registered
i am uk seller based in uk and do not sell outside uk, on amazon for 20 years
i have not had an email asking for Determination of "Establishment" for UK VAT
when i try and got to enter info in accounts info. under 'Determination of Establishment' it asks for vat and gst nos.
looks like theyve messed up my account, maybe others too

First of all, this isn't Amazon Support team - this is just a forum of other sellers.
Do you live in UK ? - or do you live overseas but store your goods in UK for FBA ? If that is the case then you do need to be VAT registered here. You say you are established in UK - do you mean you have a virtual address here ? - sorry for all the questions, but to help, we need to know.
