Buy Box Lost due to competitive price issue - WE ARE THE SOLE SELLER

Hi,

We're currently facing an issue with one of our products. A few days ago, Amazon detected that a listing on Walmart started selling our product for $119.51. Consequently, Amazon removed our buy box and is requiring us to price match to $119.51 in order to reinstate it. We suspect Walmart itself is selling our brand-registered products, likely those that were lost in their warehouse a few months ago and recently found. We've purchased all their stock since then, but despite this, Amazon continues to recognize $119.51 as the competitive price. Whenever we set our original price of $134.95, we lose the buy box.

Have you tried listing the item on Walmart at $134.95 or higher? This might cause the Amazon bot to reset.

If you still have a seller account on the other platform - try booting the price up to match your 134.95 or higher.

Happens to us all the time. We prove that Amazon is wrong, which we shouldn't have to do--it's our merchandise. They know nothing about our demographic or the market. They rely on AI and their "system," which is ridiculous, and they say, "The system says."

You can't argue with them. You can't take them to court. You can't go to arbitration because they pick the arbitrator and they will fine you if their arbitrator finds your case frivilous. You can't talk to their customers.

I'm only here because Amazon has done it's best to be the ONLY internet reseller. They said in Seattle back in 2008, "We don't want to be the best reseller. We want to be the only one." And at that time they were using seriously big Wall Street cash infusions to take out legitimate businesses that got in the way of the monopoly they strove to build.

And look at what we've got now. The same Draconian, mindless rules (which are built to preserve Amazon at the third party sellers' expense and retain/grow shareholder value.

Bezos started Amazon for the sole purpose to make money. He's candid about that in an interview. And anything that expands the bottom line they'll do.

The legal contract we signed states just that. We basically have no rights. Amazon hires people from countries whose religion is amoral and will enforce these rules. (No. I don't mean the Philippines, Costa Rica, or Guatemala. I love all those people. I lived in SE Asia and South America, and I do business with a lot of those people. They're hard working, loyal, and very talented.)

So why do I stay in this game? Because there's no choice but to use Amazon.

Rest assured: Any company that poaches Amazon execs I do little or no business with. They've adopted Amazon's "ethics."

I don't believe they can do business like this forever. However, I don't know how long the Almighty will allow it to continue.

At this point it's all in His hands.

But after 27 years of working with Amazon--starting in zShops--I am able to make these statements candidly and honestly. By the way, the above applies to ALL Amazon ecommerce around the world. The only exception? The UK. They have scruples.

Canada? A waste of time. Japan? A waste of time. China? Folded. The US? Without excuse. Terrible.

They've destroyed thousands of our units in FBA, too, and have refused to reimburse us.

I could go on. I should have been the guy Tucker Carlson interviewed about Amazon. the guy he interviewed was weak, timid, terrified.

That's what Amazon does because we allow Amazon to do it.

I'm not that way. A Higher Power rules the universe. I know that.

Nothing you can do at this point. You need to keep selling it at 119.51 for a while then gradually increase the price. In the meantime, the offer on Walmart should be $134.95

Hi @Seller_TCi9K7fDOamJy,

I have found your product and see that you have the featured merchant status again. Sometimes increasing your price a little over several days instead of all at once, can work sometimes when increasing your price.

I wish you the best in your sales!

A very similar thing has happened to me. An external seller of a counterfeit product has dropped my price below cost, and now I have lost the buybox of my own product. It's been two weeks and no seller support has been able to help. I don't understand why they are doing this? I have charged the same price on my product for years....

I have the same problem with a product that I am the manufacturer of, the brand owner of, and NOBODY else sells for less or could ever sell for less unless they wanted to buy it from me and lose money on every sale. The buy box was taken away when I raised my price. The seller central panel keeps showing me an old price I USED to sell for on another platform but have raised in the past as well. I'm waiting for that old price to reset but it doesn't seem to happen. It forces me to keep my old price and eat increases in shipping costs that I am trying to account for. Im so frustrated over this. I am waiting and watching your post to see if the recent interest from Amazon I see posting here helps you.
