Transparency Codes vs Serial Numbers
We received a notice on Sept 17 that ASIN B00M55BIXG would start requiring approval to be sold starting Oct 1. Based on prior experience this means that the product would require transparency codes at that time. However, we are still active on the listing and are being required to provide these codes prior to the date we were told.
Please enlighten us as to why we are required to submit these codes before the stated date.
Also, when submitting codes, why do some items ask for a serial number rather than the transparency code?

Michelle at Amazon here. I understand that you would like to know why you need to have transparency codes prior to the Oct 1 date and why some items requires serial numbers and not transparency codes.
I have confirmed with the Transparency team that you don't have to send in items with the code prior to Oct 1st, however, any shipments that are received on or after Oct 1 will require the codes, so that's why they are having you start any new shipments with the codes now. There is a new program within transparency that that is allowing some manufacturers to use their serial numbers instead of transparency codes, which is why you may be required serial numbers on some ASIN's and transparency codes on others.
