FBA Refund Over 3x Amount of Item Refunded, Amazon Said Wait 60 Days, Now 60 Days Have Passed

We caught a refund that Amazon processed as a "General Adjustment" for $150. We look up the order, the item purchased was $44.99. Open a case and the eventual response is this...

"Upon investigation, we see that the Order ID: XXXXX contains items from other sellers, and the refund amount is close to the total amount for the order, which is why the amount is higher than normal. Additionally, an auto-reimbursement would also occur if the unit has not been returned 60 days after the refund. Allow at least 60 days from the date of refund for the item to be returned to your inventory or reimbursed if eligible based on the reimbursement policy. You can appeal the reimbursement amount after an auto- reimbursement is processed. We're unable to appeal now as automatic reimbursement is still pending."

The above is part of a thread we started in January. Basically Amazon refunded $150 on a $44.99 item. Amazon refused to do anything about the excessive refund because 60 days hadn't passed. So now 60 days have passed and we opened a new case and you will not believe what this scam of a company is saying now...

"Based on our investigation, we have received an update from our internal team stating that sales partners can request compensation within 60 days of the loss or damage incident. We will not investigate incidents that exceed 60 days."

So previously they said they could not do anything before 60 days are up. Now 60 days are up and they say they can not do anything because 60 days have passed. What an absolute scam of a company. Everyone just makes up their own rules as they go so they don't have to do any work and they can screw over small businesses.

Original case 17016554551 (where they said had to wait 60 days)

New case 17429217451 (where they say they can't do anything because 60 days have passed)

So Amazon originally told us that we had to wait 60 days before they could do anything about them refunding 3x the amount of the product. And now that 60 days is up, Amazon is saying they can't do anything because 60 days have passed.

Bumping this again because as we have continued arguing with seller support they are gain saying they can't do anything because it is over 60 days.

You tell sellers you can't fix your screw up until 60 days have passed. Then when 60 days pass, you say you can't do anything because 60 days have passed. Just truly unbelievable how bad seller support at this company has become. I am going to bump this and tag people until someone at Amazon has fixed this.

You give a customer a refund 3x the amount of the product. We immediately try to get it fixed. We are told that yes you screwed up but you can't do anything until 60 days have passed. Then when that time passes, you say the thing you told us to do is the reason nothing can be done. This is outright theft any way you cut it.

Thank you for posting on our Forums! I took a look at your case details, and can confirm the reimbursement claim has already been escalated to our internal teams for review/approval.

I can see the team sent a follow-up yesterday 4/20/25 as we are still waiting on an update on the claim. Once the claim has been reviewed/approved, you should be getting confirmation on Case 17429217451.

If you run in to any issues after the review has been completed, please feel free to reply to this thread, and I'd be happy to take a look at what is needed to get this closed out for you.

Thank you for your patience during this time!
