Requesting a removal order (return or disposal) of product units

What is a removal order?

A removal order is a request issued by you for your inventory either to be returned to you or to be disposed of at the fulfillment center.

How do I request a removal order?

You can request a removal order from your Manage Inventory page by selecting the units to be returned or disposed of and following the workflow steps.

What is the Automated Unfulfillable Removals option?

By enabling the Automated Unfulfillable Removals in your Fulfillment by Amazon Settings page, you request to have eligible unfulfillable units in our fulfillment centers automatically removed—either returned to you or disposed of, according to the frequency you choose. This can be either on the 5th and 20th of each month, on the 1st of every month, or on the 1st of the month every 3 months.

Lost, expired, carrier-damaged or warehouse-damaged units are not eligible for removal.

What is the Automated Long-Term Storage Removal option?

By enabling the Automated Long-Term Storage Removal in your Fulfillment by Amazon Settings page, you request to have any units affected by an "inventory clean-up" automatically removed – either returned to you or disposed of at the fulfillment center.

On the 15th of each month inventory stored at our fulfillment centers for more than 365 days is subject to long-term storage fees. See FBA Long-Term Storage for more information.

Long-Term Storage fees are not charged as long as a request is made to have such inventory removed or disposed of prior to the Inventory Clean-up deadline. You can view the Long-Term Storage fees, as well as removal and disposal fees, on the FBA Pricing page.

How will I know when Amazon has shipped my removed units back to me?

We process return requests as soon as they are received, and we send an e-mail confirmation once the units are packed for shipping. You can track the status and access the details of your removal orders through the Removal Order Detail Report and the Removal Shipment Detail Report in your Fulfillment by Amazon Reports page.

How long will it take to receive my removed units?

Removal orders can take up to 10-14 working days to be dispatched from the FC, and up to 30 working days or more during holiday period (Prime week, October, November and December).

Can I have my units returned to an address outside my home marketplace country?

How much does Amazon charge for a removal order?

How is a removal order billed?

Removal orders are billed within 45 days of the date they were requested. All costs for removal or disposal of inventory are charged to your seller account.
