Grocery & Gourmet Food includes alcohol (beer, wine, and spirits).
Amazon limits the addition of new sellers in certain categories to ensure a high level of quality so that customers are able to buy with confidence from all sellers on Amazon. In order to sell in the Grocery category, you will have to meet the requirements listed below. While our site-wide selling guidelines still apply, please note the additional requirements for this category.
Alcohol (Beer, wine, and spirits)
As a seller, you are required to demonstrate market segment due diligence with regard to age verification for the supply of alcoholic products and to send using a delivery method with age verification, as necessary.
If you want to sell alcohol products in Spain, you will need to have selected the Amazon Payments Europe Selling on Amazon Acceptable Use Policy for alcohol. This section can be found in Settings > Account Info > Your Services > Amazon Payments Europe Acceptable Use Policy > View or edit (tick the "alcohol" box and press Submit). If for any reason you are not able to see this option, contact Seller Support.
Once you have ticked the Acceptable Use Policy for alcohol and your seller account has passed verification, you will be able to list and sell these products on Amazon.es.
Products first made available in the UK on or before December 31, 2020 should comply with EU requirements (see above). Products that are first made available in the EU or UK on or before December 31, 2020 can continue to circulate until they reach their end user and do not need to comply with the changes that take effect from January 1, 2021. You can retain evidence of when products were first made available in the UK or EU by keeping documents including contracts of sale. Products first made available in Great Britain (England, Scotland, and Wales) after December 31, 2020 should comply with the following requirements:
All food products offered for sale on an Amazon website must be intended for sale in the UK and comply with all applicable UK laws and regulations. After December 31, 2020, an amended version of the EU FIC will apply to the sale of food products in the UK as a result of the Food (Amendment) (EU Exit) Regulations 2019/529.
For medicinal products, you must register with the UK’s MHRA to sell medicinal products online.
Note that different rules will apply in Northern Ireland from January 1, 2021 as a result of the Northern Ireland Protocol, and you should ensure that products meet EU requirements.
If you are able to meet all of the requirements listed above, go ahead and upload your products to the inventory.
